About us
We are an Aeromodeling club based at:-
Whangarei,Northland,
New Zealand
Whangarei is a city of obout 45000 people situated 2 1/2 hours drive North of Auckland, about 1 hour south of the Bay of Islands.
We fly model aircraft of all descriptions and sizes including fixed and rotary wing, electric and I.C.,Gliders, control line and freeflight.
We produce a Club bulletin every month (except January) which is supplied to all paid up members.
We have a trainer aircraft set up with a "buddy" system to aid in the training of members also available for prospective members to "have a go".
We also operate a parrallel flying site at Portland. This site is under development for R/C flying at this time and is suitable for smaller aircraft and/or experienced flyers. Control line flying has it's own area with concrete circle here. At Portland there is a hall, toilet and kitchen facilities. The hall is used for club nights etc. when small free flight glider,rubber and electric models are flown along with miniture indoor elecrtic R/C models. If you have a model you would like checked and/or test flown please make prior arrangements with us so that an experienced member can be made available to you at a mutually acceptable day and time.

5. Turn right at Matarau Rd 
The Portland field :- From CBD Whangarei.
1. Head south on Bank St toward Water St 0.3 km
2. Turn right at Walton St 42 m
3. Slight left at Lower Tarewa Rd 0.4 km
4. Continue on Tarewa Rd 0.9 km
5. Slight left at Otaika Rd 3.0 km
6. Continue on SH 1 3.4 km
7. Slight left at Portland Rd 1.9 km
8. Turn left to stay on Portland Rd 0.5 km
9. Turn right to stay on Portland Rd 0.4 km
10. Slight right to stay on Portland Rd 0.4 km
11. Turn left at Tikorangi Rd 0.6 km
